A 52 kg person escapes from a burning building by jumping from a window 15 m above a catching net. Assuming that air resistance exerts a 95 N force on the person during the fall, determine the person's velocity just before hitting the net.

Since F=m*a
net force is
m*g-95=m*a
a=g-95/m

The easiest way to compute this is to look at work
m*g*15-95*15=.5*m*v^2
using g=10
v=sqrt((2*52*10*15-
2*95*15)/52)

=15.66 m/s
