The most fundamental moral issue is the famous "says who?" problem. It is the problem of moral authority. Most of us make our moral decisions based upon a feeling. Perhaps we might call it our conscience, but it just results in a feeling. We feel good if we do a good deed and feel bad if we are dishonest for example. But we don't have any obligation to obey a feeling. It's so easy to modify our feelings.

Think of a scene in your play where we see a beggar, we have sympathy for the beggar and we give the beggar some money. In the next scene we see the beggar buying beer with the money. In the next scene we see another beggar but this time we turn our head the other way and walk past. The feeling of sympathy came and it went when we saw how our gift was used. If a feeling is the basis of our morality, it is a weak foundation indeed.

RESPECT!!!
If we all learned "respect" we wouldn't have:
racism
war
divorces
abuse
neglect
crime
and so on...
If we gave every person the respect we would like to have, everyone would be able to look past the differences in each and get along, thus, no hate, crime, war, abuse, neglect, racism and so on...
