there should be an 800 number on your receipt. If not, go to the place where you purchased the money order, and they will have some kind of contact number. What you want to do is run a tracer on the money order -- the money order number is on the receipt. There may be a fee, but this can sometimes be waived or negotiated depending on the problem involved. The tracer will show. 1) if the m.o. was cashed. 2)when it was cashed (if it was) and 3) who cashed it (what bank, location, as a deposit)

If you have misplaced your receipt, you're probably out of luck until the payment shows up on your account. If it ever does.

Ruth C: The money order WILL NEVER show up on HER account. It is drawn against the BANK'S account. If she goes back to where she bought the money order, the MAY be able to research using the amount and approximate purchase date. If she paid with a Visa/MasterCard or transfer from her checking account, the chances are better.
