why is drinking hydrogen peroxide dangerous when it only has one more oxygen atom than water?

because that one more oxygen atom makes it a completely different substance.

Because it wants to give that oxygen atom up! Why is sodium and chlorine deadly apart but together you put them on your chips!

oxygen is very corrosive. try putting some peroxide on your skin and leave there for a couple of minute.

Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizing agent and so can "burn" mucous membranes and other sensitive tissue.
