Right. You want to be famous or you want to be an actress? Which is it?
If you just want to be famous, well, there are easier ways than acting, you just have to make a fool of yourself publicly.
If you *really* want to act then you need to be ready for a very tough life, against a lot of other people who want it just as much as you.
The way to start is to get into drama courses and amateur dramatics. You need to get experience, once you have some experience you can start to work your way up -- assuming you have some talent -- eventually you might be able to get yourself an agent.
Acting is the second toughest profession to get famous in (the first being writing).
There is *no* elevator to success, you have to take the stairs.
If you think any different you are going to have a miserable life. Success takes hard work.
Also wanting "to be famous" will set you up to be ripped off by every person who claims they can make you famous, because you'll want to believe them.
If you really want to act then that's great, go for it. If you just want to be famous, forget it.

The actress part comes first before the fame.
You need to ask yourself, "Do I want to do this because I love it or I just want to be greedy?"
Or the way I put it with the little kids I taught over the summer, "Do you want to be Paris Hilton or Nicole Kidman?" Why them? Paris is only famous because of her name and the infamous video whereas Nichole, despite having some not great movies, has also done some great work.

you say this like fame and acting are the same. they aren't...really. you have to have perserverence and passion for acting if you want ot be an actress, not just a want for fame. so many people want ot get into the buisness for fame and i cna assure you that at lease 90 percent of those people end up drug addicts or acholholics becaude of the pressure fame brings on (Linsdy, Brittney, you know what i mean.) Then those few, very few people that aren't in it for the fame at all, not even just a little bit and they are 100 percent in it for the acting. almost everyone one of those people are succesful throughout their whole acting carreers and dont crack under the pressure of fame.
if you dont have a love for acting, you wont last in the buisness.
i suggest if you are serious about ACTING not fame, you look into taking soem acting classes and auditioning for plays in your area. but if you dont love to act, maybe you should switch gears.

Actors become performers, for the love of acting, NOT becasue they want to be famous.
Re-evaluate your interest in acting, perhpas you would do better in another career.

awesome! i love that...you want to be famous or you want to be an actress.
Go to school for it and be prepared. It's a hard, crazy, but great life.
Most REAL actors dont' do it to be famous.
