I really want an xbox 360 but my parents dont really want me getting one. I already have a wii (which i really like) but the trouble is there are no good games on it right now. I want an xbox 360 not just cuz of halo 3 but also some other games like oblivion and assassins creed and so on. I have enough money to buy it myself, but they just dont want me to get one. They think that i already spend too much time on video games but i dont; i get 90's in school, i do karate every week and join team sports and i have many friends. so whats the downside to letting me get one????? any suggestions to help me convince my parents to let me get one????

Try saying only positive things about the 360.

For example, say it could improve your social skills because you get to talk with other people while playing games online.

Try doing nice stuff and helping around the house, and do anything that makes them think you deserve to buy it.

Christmas works too. And if you can't wait, then just ask for it as an early present.

As for the Wii, you should buy Metroid Prime 3. And also Manhunt 2 next month...

If you want an xbox 360 do it the mature way. Don't throw temper tantrums or get mad at your parents because this will make them think your not ready for an xbox. Some ways to convince them are doing well in school, finishing homework, doing what your told, not complaining when asked to do chores etc. This will show them that you can handle an xbox. If all that doesn't work, say you will pay for it with your own money. If they still say no, tell them about time limits and parental controls on the xbox console. Good Luck

You can try the same approach you did with us...it's your money, you don't neglect school or other activities, have real friends which are the biggest dangers of playing anything too much. You can ask why they don't want you to have it and respond with an organized, coherent, answer addressing their concerns with your points above. You can also try telling them you'll stop playing it until they say OK again if your grades drop or sports suffers, etc. If all else fails ask them what they'd like you to do to prove you deserve it and try to strike a deal, like all A's on your first report card/honor roll or something before they'll let you get it.

If it's YOUR money - then feel free to do whatever you want with it...

If it's THEIRS - then you'll have to find some way of convincing them...

Consider doing extra chores, volunteer work - or even trading in your Wii to go towards the purchase price ;););)

I really hope this works it does for me!

First act like a sap and beg. (Most likely will not work)
Then i always convince them that some games teach you a lesson of what not to do.
And always ask for it for Christmas. And if that doesn't work then,
say and i quote "Please get this for me it wont hurt me or anything i wont ask you for anything for a little while" if that Sappy crap doesn't work Then try thinking of your own ideas again maybe these will help.

I REALLY HOPE I HELP!

you need to show them how responsible you are or you can save up money by doing chores
