Why not write about someone that writes in to answers to get someone else to write their story for them. Sounds like a friendly alien to me.

Write a story about a human space traveler that gets stranded on another planet and he makes friends even though he is the "alien".

Think like a kid.
Or-
Think like 'E.T.'=
An alien comes to earth and is lost. The kids help him get home.
Or think like 'Mars Attacks'=
Aliens come to kill everyone, but a kid and his grandma save the world.
Or think like a cartoon character, some whacky weird alien comes and the kids try to figure out how to talk to it...
hmmm, that's all I can think of.
