How can I comfort my close friend?

My friend fells so blue. What do you suggest to do in order to make him happy?

Since we never know exactly how to say the right thing at the moment that our loved ones need it... I would suggest just being there for him. Make sure he knows that you are there. I would suggest taking him out to a late lunch and walk around the beach at sunset. This always calms me down. I feel comforted around God's beauty. I also suggest not making him talk about what is bothering him. He will open up once he trusts you.

If you know why they're feeling down that can help an awful lot, but generally if you can keep their mind off things it may help them get over whatever it is.

On the other hand, sometimes people do need space to just work things out in their head so perhaps make sure they know you're there, but don't crowd them as such. They might eventually open up to you and that can be very good therapy.

Otherwise you'd have spent time with (her), called often to get (her) talking & getting their attention away from themselves.

Taken them out...

You could try these things, but he may get 'attached' to you as a result.

You could risk it, but 'd be a gamble.

Maybe better to keep another person present.

A little hug will be nice, tell him what ever is making him so down will work its self out and for him to keep his chin up an that you are there for him if he needs to talk.

Rent some comedies and just be there to listen. Tell him that you are there no matter what!! Hope he feels better soon!!
