Is this a question of preference? If so, I take the middle path. Save up loads of money by not paying my rent for years, then use it to buy the house.

For up keep - hands down renting (nicely i assume there would desire to be undesirable landlords obtainable). yet there is not something like paying for a house and having to interchange the septic gadget in the 1st 6 mo's, a roof. It appeared to value a lot much less to maintain and a few much less expenditures to pay each and each month. Rats! On taxes - possessing is super in case you're paying extremely a lot of interest (assuming it will be deductible). i think of from an coverage attitude it would desire to be a wash or a sprint greater effective as a renter. usual i'm satisfied i bought these days yet I even have truthfully felt some pains as a house proprietor that i did not would desire to care approximately as a renter.

Buy a home!
Renting is throwing your money away, I agree. Plus...
I hate spending my whole life paying someone else's mortgage and being ordered around, told how to live, illegal entries, mold, broken stuff never repaired but you're not allowed to repair it yourself, constantly being kept awake by everyone else's business through the walls, etc.
But until home prices are within reach, I'm trapped. It's not like I can save. I have to pay rent! I feel like a prisoner.

I would love to feel settled enough to buy a home. Just not quite there yet. So for now I actually prefer to pay rent. Plus, don't forget, I don't have to shovel snow or mow the lawn. . . little perks help me justify throwing all that money away .....

If I didn't like where I was at and was planning on leaving at first opportunity, I'd rather pay rent. Buying is one of the mistakes I made that pinned me here.

Much rather buy a home. Unfortunately due to a bad divorce am renting. Much rather be paying to own my place than paying someone else.

Depends if I plan on being in it longer than 5 years .
Depends on the current mortgage rates and the current rent rates .
Buying is only a wise decision , if in the long run ,
You pay less for the mortgage .

well if you have the money to buy then of course thats the best choice... you kinda have to look at it this way, if you can buy a home equal or lesser value then buying is the way to go but if rent is waaaay cheaper then of course its more cost efficient... i would suggest buying if you can because alteast its yours.. renting is a waste of money that you can never get back.. found an awesome site with tons of real estate information that will help

I already own my home and for the price of rent I not only pay the mortgage I also pay my electricicty and Gas. You can't get any better than that.

Due to my lack of any skill with tools I prefer to rent. While I know that this not a good way to build for a future I know that if the toilet breaks (which it has) the landlord is responsible to fix it.
