Some of them I enjoy, some of them I live with, some of them I really hate. The problem is that I have too many things that I REALLY want to do, and they crowd each other out. I've been obsessed with writing a book for about five years, and can't stop researching it. Unfortunately, other more immediate obsessions keep getting in the way. I've shed many, many hobbies in my time, and yet new ones keep showing up. Some of them are short-timers, others are long term, others become chronic, and keep popping up when I come up with new applications.

I think I just have more ideas and curiosities than I have time to make use of them.

What sort of obsession? I am obsessed with Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, and internet and fanfiction. I generally enjoy them, but they can be distracting when real things should be being done (ie, homework). They also aren't the greatest if no one around you agrees with your obsessions, and so ignore you when you rant about said obsessions. Anyway, I do mostly enjoy them. I can't always say the same for my friends, however.

I'm enjoying them. One of the things that advancing age does is it moderates all things. There is no longer the excess energy to expend so it has to be portioned out. This pretty much takes care of overwhelming obsessive behavior.

Really, an excellent question!

I frankly am looking for a cure, I have tired of my obsessions, and seek solace in my maturity.

No, I am not enjoying them, but I am not looking for a cure either, because I know there is no such chance.

The cure for me would probably be to get rid of the computer....the recovery would be a long and painful process.

I always ride my obsessions into the ground. I just take them as extreme as I can go with them, until I get so tired of them I never want to involve myself with them. I have no desire for video games or television anymore. I guess that's my cure.

I thought maybe this was true for people, but I can't manage to ride those out. :\
