I've seen something- years ago, there was something in my basement- I think it was the spirit of a man wearing a top hat, but I would only see him out of the corner of my eye, and when I turned my head he would be gone. I would also hear footsteps at night. A friend told me to put a glass of water on the top of the highest piece of furniture in the house, so I did, and I never saw it again.

Well, some things have happened to me. Like there is an evil cat (I know it may sound silly but it's true) in my neighborhood, well there used to be. It first started with my friend's little brother falling out the window and luckily landing on the sandbox. My friend was in the room with him and claims she heard a meow and saw a cat push him out of the window. I got really interested. Also, when that same friend moved, there was a haunted house in her new neighborhood. She knows this because her sister's friend claims she heard moaning in the night so I came over and we decided to check it out. We brought her friend's camera. We got actual photos of the ghost picking up her towel (they had got wet in the rain) and then dropping it. And we got another photo of her and her husband in a tuxedo and a wedding dress. When we came back later, we heard knocking and then a scream and saw the curtains open and close. We started screaming and the lady across the street came out and said "No one lives there. Stay away. I don't want you to get hurt. Don't take pictures!!!" By then we were more interested than ever. Why would we get hurt? Why didn't she want us to take pictures? Why didn't anyone live there? So we figured she had something to do with it. On our way back, we saw my friends name and birthday carved into the street. So the next day when the lady was gone, we went back to the haunted house and saw nothing. When we went back, we were disappointed when she pointed to the back of my leg and said "Look. She's bleeding!!!" So everyone else checked the back of their legs and everyone also had a red mark, and we were wearing sandels! It was so scary, we never went back there. So thats why I started believing in that. I really hope this helps you.

If you spend any time on this board at all you would know that many people have perceived paranormal experiences. Since the phenomena experienced all seem to mirror current cultural iconography and because there is no evidence offered beyond anecdotes, I think it's very interesting. That doesn't mean something actually happened, but it does mean many people *think* something happened.

Odd things happen here in the house I live all the time. Lights get brighter, like a power surge. (only once after my dog passed) Noises. I've seen what I thought was my boyfriend walk from one garage to another, and when I went to ask him a question he wasn't there! He was on the 3rd floor of the house on the computer. He had been there awhile, the whole time I thought he was downstairs.
The absolute weirdest thing actually gave me cold chills, because I couldn't rationalize it was this...
I was getting ready to use this large orbital sander, that is always plugged in. When I picked it up it wasn't plugged in so I sat it back down in front of me on the table where I work and turned around to plug it in. When I turned back around to pick it up from the table it was gone. It was on the floor far as it could be behind me sitting straight up like someone had sat it there. No noise of a fall at all. It couldn't have landed there without me noticing it fall or without making a noise. My boyfriend walked over and asked what was going on because I was staring at the sander on the floor and I explained what happened. He said the same thing, it couldn't fall without a noise being made, or that far away from me sitting upright. I guess you had to be there, but it was weird.

in my current home i have had the sense of something watching me. nothing dangerous. more curious and friendly. plus my son has said he has seen a face in the corner of his room. I burn sandal wood to calm him and cleanse the area. plus the fallowing day i burn lavender to help calm the moods. it tends to help. I have been told that i have a spirit of a cat in my house we are in right now. besides all that.

everyone has experienced something paranormal, many choose to look the other way or ignore it. Pretending something doesnt exist is easier than admitting something strage happened that shook you out of your nice little structured world.

I heard a female voice call my name one night & I was the only female in the house awake at the time. Ever since then I sleep w/ a night light. I also had a dream about a friend I lost touch with & in the dream his face looked messed up so when I woke up I looked his name up on yahoo & found his obit & a newstory that he died in a car crash. Guess it was his way of saying goodbye.
