I am in the process of moving from small town life to the big city. I want to be able to give my kids every chance I didn't get when I was growing up. The big city has more opportunity, a better place to live and we will be closer to our family and friends. That is what matters, being close to the ones who care the most about you and that you care the most about.

Not particularly. It's a small Town in the Midlands and we came here on 02July1965. Husband promised me it would be for only a couple of years then we would return to the West Country.
It's OK a place, cheap housing, plenty of good shopping, good countryside, but the Town has no "soul" - nothing which would make you soar, like seeing the Bristol Suspension Bridge lit up in the night sky appearing to be suspended in the air, or if you lived in Sydney, just looking at the harbour bridge and opera house.
Even the natives call this place "the Dead Centre of the Midlands"
This is just somewhere to exist till they put me in a box!

Yes I do, I love it. I live in a small village in South Wales about 25 miles from Cardiff (having moved here from the bright lights of Cardiff 6 months ago) I live in a huge house (bigger than I could ever afford in Cardiff, anyway!) just down the road from my dad. I walk everywhere and my kids are in a brilliant village school where there are 20 kids in a class.
Life is good

Veronica Alicia- you don't live in Coventry do you?? ?LOL - I do and it is the pits!! Sorry if you live here and like it. I'd like to get away- somewhere by the sea, I don't care for sunshine all year round, just to be in a small town, where people care how you are, working for the community and putting something back. Does that sound too idealistic?

I do and I dont! I live in this little itty bitty town in Nebraska with a population of 800 people! Kid u not! I like it cuz u can still go to the little store where your credit is a handshake and u will c them on payday! U can warm up your car on a winter day without locking the door. U can go to work 12 hrs and leave front door unlocked and nothing ever gets stolen! I hate it cause it gets sooooo boring and nothing to do. and because everyone knows everyone and u cant fart without everyone knowing about it! So its give and take!

Oh, I LOVE the place I'm living in right now! The high school that's across the street, filled with teenagers coming from school everyday, blasting their music in the cars, writing on my fence after school, oohhh it's so peaceful!
Oh and don't forget the motorcycles that come out at night! They are great too.
I love where I live.

I don't like it. When it rains, my box gets wet. Then I have to repair the roof.
Perhaps I should find a drier climate, like on the beach in CA. Do you think a lot of homeless people litter the beach? Will I be able to make friends?

I love my family and friends, but I hate the town I live in! It's this small town in a small state that no one cares about! I would love to live in San Francisco! I've never been there, but I've done reserch on it and I love it!!!!
