the blinding sunlight of the countryside shone throught the window like a lighthouse light on a dark night. i woke up feeling like a recharged battery raring to go, as i looked out the window that had a stupendous view of the vast fields that was the farm, the knowledge that my relatives were coming over for a thanksgiving get together hit me like a sledgehammer.

hope this is a good start

Here is an idea, It was a cold, November night. My family and I were staying on my great grandfathers' farm. We were planning a large Thanksgiving feast for the family. We were all in bed, fast asleep, when all of a sudden I woke. Oh,my gosh, I thought, we didn't chop the turkeys' head off or clean it today. So I got up and dressed and went to the coup and started chasing turkeys around. ( Hope this gets you started)

Descriptive writing is easy just add extra words

A) I woke up on Thanksgiving morning and went down stairs.

B) I rubbed my sleep-filled eyes and streched my body to wake. It was Thanksgiving morning and the animals outside my second-floor window moo'd and clucked the entire farm to life. I stumbled out of the bed, my legs woozy with rest, and slowly made my way down stairs to greet my family.

Waking up on a brisk, snowy morning in November, I smile, it is Thanksgiving! I hop out of my warm, cozy bed and put on my warm, fuzzy slippers. I go downstairs and already smell the tempting delicious smells of the dinner my helpful mother is preparing. I look out the window and see the sparkly snow glistening on the fence posts, as the cows huddle together to keep warm.
