My doc is worried I might have it because of recent weight gain and also glucose in my urine... but I have also been so nauseated that I have to eat all the time and that could be contributing to everything and not necessarily mean GD. How did you or do you control it?

im hypoglycemic and just found out a few days ago. i have basically the opposite of diabetes. my blood sugar is too low. i was so sure i was going to have it since i eat like crazy, all kinds of things fruits, veggies, meats, and even some unhealthy stuff quite a bit. yet they told me my blood sugar is dangerously low. anyhoo, my sister had the GD and i helped her out. i was vegetarian for years and alot of the dishes i knew how to make where low in sugars and fats and helped keep her blood sugar down. really just cut down on fats and junk foods, juices and sodas, and even fruits if its really necessary. try whole grain pastas in tomatoe or mushroom based sauces with veggies like broccoli or spinach or chicken. it may sound harsh if your not used to eating like a health nut but your GD wont last after pregnancy (hopefully) and a few months won't kill you :)
hope that helped!

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I did not have gestational diabetes, but I was borderline. I had to go quite a few times to get tested!

My weight was the problem, as was the fact that I am at high risk for diabetes, because it runs in my family. Also, I had high blood pressure towards the end of my pregnancy.

The only thing I was told to do, was to watch how much junk food I eat, and to stay away from soda and sugary drinks/juices. Also, I walked and did some light exercise.

Other than that, I don't think there is much you can do. Good luck with your pregnancy and God Bless!

Is that the Manti or Logan temple on your avatar? Oh, my ex had GD when she was pregnant with all my kids. Not a big deal, she checked her blood sugar often and tweaked her diet only ever so slightly. After she gave birth, no more GD. Sincerely, Mr. Jack Mormon who can't seem to live the gospel.

I didn't get it with either child, but the doctor thought I was going to the second time. To prevent it, he put me on an 1800 calorie per day diet, no junk food, no sugary stuff, and easy on the carbs. Evidently, it worked for me.

I controlled mine with diet. Focus on protein, dairy, and veggies, and don't go too long without eating a little something, preferably not sugar. Like yogurt or cheese or hummus or carrot sticks or peanut butter, etc.
