You've seen them. The chick getting off the bus with the Gucci bag (FAKE!). The chick at the club with the fake Louis Vuitton bag (I know it's fake because she stepped out a 2000 Taurus), bling (fake), D&G frames she got off ebay or from the lady at the hair salon who has 100s of glasses in little baggies for $10 or 3 for $20. YET, late on bills, can't make car payment, rent late, etc.
What the heck is up with this. Is the media to blame? Why can't people just be happy with what they have and what they can afford instead of trying to be something they're not.
I personally vowed to never buy a fake bag or real one for that matter until I was driving in a Mercedes that I bought with my own credit.

2D-I don't care really. I just feel bad for them that they don't have confidence.

I'm 30 and not shallow-minded. I'm smart enough and confident in my own intelligence and charisma to not resort to buying fake designer things to allude to some grandeur that is not there. It's just lame, but do what you want.

And nooo. I don't own a Mercedes. I think some people assumed I had money. I make a good living but not enough to buy a $1200 bag or $600 bag. I'm content with that. Others should be too. All i'm sayin...

Luv-Everyone-LOL. I assure you, i'm not jealous. Is it hard to believe I actually feel bad that people have to resort to "things" to make themselves look better? Don't think people who have a problem with conspicuous consumption are jealous. We're just a little more intelligent about things. And I was really speaking about the fake designer bags. I have no problem if a woman or man can actually afford to spend that type of money. I'm strictly referring to the ones who obviously cannot. You can kind of tell those people by their presentation in most situations.

LOL, but that is sooo true! I never got this countries fascination with making money, I believe it's perpetuated by these rock and rap videos. They glamorize money and the "good life" They instill in us the need to buy the best cars, the best shoes, the huge house (who needs 10 bathrooms in one home?). It's a sickness that keeps capitalism alive.

Yea, I know what you're talking about and I've actually got a few really good FAKE Louis Vuitton and Burberry bags that I love. Actually, what I never really got is why someone would spend sooo much on a bag? Sunglasses, I could see because there is definitely a difference in a pair of real sunglasses than a fake pair. I'm never late on bills though...so it seems as if you're talking about a specific person... Why does it really matter to you what other girls choose to buy? Maybe they hate your real bag.. & love their fake one (like I do)! =D

i also vow to never buy a fake as well, if i cant afford it im not going to pretend to own one by having a fake.. but thankfully i could afford them.. Lol have a couple LV's and tons of coach..(heheh)
having a car that back dates to 2000 doenst mean the things are fake.. I was driving around a 2002 Mercedes for a long time, not because im broke..
I live in a predominately wealthy neighborhood and alot (not majority) have old cars and can afford alot more.
But for real its really insecurity. They probably feel bad and down for not being able to afford nicer things and have to fake it til they make it.

Haha, I'm sure that if you tried it, it wouldn't be noticed straight away but you would have trouble getting into the same club again.
