Millions of people know that holidays like Christmas and Easter have pagan origins, but it doesn't really matter to them because they don't "celebrate it that way." As long as they are mainly celebrating the birth and resurrection of Jesus with only a little bit of Santa Claus or the Easter bunny "for the kids" then God understands.

G-d has a memory. Those who are His want to honor and worship Him in truth. According to His Word, how we choose to do so is important to Him. G-d tells us not to learn the ways of the heathen (Jer.10:2) or inquire about how pagan nations serve their gods.

"You shall not worship the L-rd your G-d in that way" (Deut. 12:31).

The broad, easy path that this world loves is paved with good intentions but it leads to destruction. The decisions we make in life as Christians aren't to be based on how we feel or Mom feels but how G-d feels. That's what you do to truly honor the one you love above all others.

iron maiden77 said Jesus was conceived on Dec 25. However this date was chosen as Jesus birthday because it coincided with the pagan Roman festival celebrating the birthday of the unconquered sun. It is likely Jesus was born in the fall of the year since he was 33 1/2 years old when he died in the spring. The Bible does not give an exact date to Jesus birth nor are we commanded to celebrate it however we do know the date of his death and are commanded to observe it, though not by painting little pink and blue Easter eggs and dressing up like bunnies. As you said, most don't care about the origin of these holidays, but that's not surprising, Matt. 7:13 & 14.

After long consideration and prayerfull questioning...i haved considered what happens during Christmas....so there is lots of commercialism to it for sure..but what else is there? there is family getting together..sometimes it may be the only time they are getting together....also..people are going to church..again..it may be the only time in a year they go to church....they hear stories of Jesus on the radio and around...they hear music praising the Lord...oh yes there is also music that is just about reindeers and some imaginary santa claus..but the message is about love and kindness to others..perhaps this is why CHristmas leaves such warm memories in my heart...how many people extend themself to be kinder around Christmas..perhaps realise how they havent been kind enough throughout the year..
i remember a couple of years ago..i went to see this famous santa claus...he didnt get paid for what he did...he had this little cabin in a small poor town in which he collected food and gifts for the poor...well his beard was real...and his reputation was well known as being kind, generous and as loving as could be...i went in to see him with my children...i was pretty sad around that time..single mom..my kids begged me to sit on his knee ...his blue eyes warmed me...brought tears to my own as my heart overflowed with the love i could see in his own...well i wasnt a CHrisitian then..i was still lost in my sins..but for a moment...i felt what it might like to be loved...i actually beleive that i started searching out the Lord after i met him...i started to beleive that perhaps there was something more out there....i cried after i left....never saw him again...but looking back ....i am glad i met him...even though he didnt proclaim the gospel to me....his love and sincerity was as real as the Lords love is.....
i beleive its very important to be a true Christ follower...to look for the truth....do not just follow blindly...i will not allow my kids to celebrate easter with eggs and such anymore...there is nothing good to it....however...there is lots of Christ like love that happens at CHristmas..including listening to worship music on regular radio stations that brings tears to my eyes...i try to make other CHristians aware of what the truth is....so many people need a savior...like i did..i would like to consider instead of it being CHristmas...it could be a day to celebrate his whole life..an apportunity to show his love...

I think that God knows the intentions of your heart. If you make Christmas about what you want it to be (God) then you can celebrate it.

Is your 'o' key broken? (lord, god, etc.)
Because of all the holiday marketing, I might put up a Xmas tree, but that's as far as it goes. I don't care when the real days are.

I just do it because it's tradition, part of our culture.
