I have some old dos games that I would like to play again but to know avile I have tried dos-box but nothing?

I have tried dos-box but it won't play the old dos games I have with out alot more fiddling with the program is there a way to get old dos games to work with windows 98se or what can I do to get these games to work on a system besides building a dos system?

Dos games would still work with Windows 98 and earlier because those operating systems, while sporting an improved GUI, were still Dos. Building a Dos system may be the way to go. Surplus computer outlets may have all the parts you need to build a Pentium II or III system for not a lot of money.
