I spent about $150 for a pair of orthotic shoes once because I have a really bad toe. They didn't work at all. Now I am a Birkenstock lady (hoping they'll come out with Birkenstock *heels* someday LOL!).

When I got divorced and we sold the house, I spent £225 on a pair of black riding boots. I still wear them 5 years on and can't see them lasting less than another 10 years as they're such a classic style.

The most....$300....I think its a better investment than spending say $200 on jeans...shoe's can make or break an outfit....also, because of my job, I get discounts at most high end stores and design houses, so I've never paid the full retail price for a pair (I've bought $1200 shoes for only $300).

I think about $50 or $60. They were a pair of pleather knee-high lace up boots by Demonia.

Shoes, or heels rather, aren't really my thing. Combat boots are :-)

Personally I think it's a big waste of money to spend a lot on something that's going on your feet and will most likely get dirty. Save the money for something more important like a mortgage or a car!

Yesterday, I bought some red leather strappy sandals with white stitching, brand name Caravelle. They were in a sale for £24.
In real terms, the most expensive were probably my wedding shoes which cost 59/11p (2.5 p. short of £3.00) back in 1959.
Since my weekly housekeeping in 1960 - food for 2 adults and a baby was £3 per week, they were in effect a week's housekeeping money.
I still have those shoes - pale blue and a back in fashion style.
