I know someone mentioned on here about LGBT not being allowed to get married is the same thing as racial segregation from years ago. I wondered...that's a great analogy. I also agree that it's unfair for people to not be able to get married based on their sexual orientation. That should be illegal for LGBT to not be allowed to get married. Very discriminatory. I can relate to LGBT discrimination because my friend is BI & has friends who are LGBT. My friend's gay friend said that if LGBT marriage was allowed, that would reduce promiscuity & STD's in the LGBT community. I'm heterosexual & disabled, & I know that being bashed for my mental illness, being called crazy, is just as harsh as the derogatory names for you people. So I can relate. I know I'm hetero, but my friend thinks if I turned BI like her, people would me more interested in dating me, since some straight men feel like 2 BI women with them is a turn-on. But I'm happy with being hetero.

Well, to be honest, being straight, it wouldn't increase or decrease my happiness one bit. I mean, I think gay people deserve the same rights as anyone, but I've never lost sleep over their ability to obtain a label like "married".

I think the easiest way to finish this whole argument in the U.S. is for the government to come out and say:

"You know what? As far as the government is concerned, you're all in civil unions. Gay or straight, civil union, you are all getting the same benefits. 'Marriage' is a religious classification and its between you and your church as to whether you can be 'married', not you and your government. As far as we're concerned, you're just sharing tax forms. All of you."

And then just remove the government from the rights to the word "marriage" altogether. All of a sudden the bible-thumping "durrr, one man one woman" idiots have no "I love Jesus" arguments to use and their case completely crumbles.

of course, it would be amazing!! Millions of people would be extremely happy and it'd even save the government a billion dollars. If they looked at Mass. state and their stats, then the government could see that it won't harm or ruin "traditional" marriage or something stupid people make up about how it will destroy marriage. I always see something in the news about a partner not being about to get benefits or not being about to get custody because they aren't married and it's depressing... because what if a friend goes through that? Then theres nothing you can do because there has to be a piece of paper that says you're married, even if you've been together for 25 years waiting for marriage to be legalized. It's pretty ridiculous

For me, this is a troublesome agency. After seeing my mom and dad struggle by way of a divorce i understand that each physique for the reason which you're married would not recommend which you're in love. in my view, i might choose to stay with a individual and tutor to them that we don't could be married to be "formally in love". yet nonetheless there are legal advantages and if I plan on staying with the guy perpetually, why no longer? the only undertaking i'm seeing is family participants. somewhat some my family participants are "great-Christian". I mean, my cousin's female pal's fb prestige became "searching for the style to be closer to God.". no longer that there is something incorrect with that, it rather is purely I doubt they're going to be all "enable's circulate to his gay wedding ceremony!" i do no longer choose a non secular ceremony to tell me that i'm in love with somebody. Having the possibility to be married, however, is a real each physique could have.

As for the lgbt marriage question-sure that's okay with me. But, as for being bi so that some guy could get his jollies-that's disgusting. You should want someone to date you because of who you are, not because of what kind of sex that person would be turned on by. Relationships are mostly NOT about sex-that's just one part.

I think that it would actually further what the right wing "advertises" that it stands for.. it would help to solidify stronger family units... more kids would be adopted... more couples would be buying homes together... neighborhoods would improve...

.. I can't see anything at all negative about gay marriage.. simply put... if you don't believe in gay marriage... then don't get one!!

Heck yeah, I'd be happy if it was legalized! I hate it that people are telling me that I cannot express my (*future*) love to someone in this special way!
