None whatsoever. No country has any moral authority in the world. Least of all those countries that in some form or another trample all over the freedoms and rights of their constituents. The US is no exception. It's downright laughable to have heard George Bush at the UN. Mr. Bill Clinton took care of plunging our morals down the tube, what with sneakily extending presidential pardons on his last day in office to criminals accused of fraud, etc. The American people should elect a speaker to the UN on our behalf and not this silly buffoon that makes a spectacle of himself everywhere he goes.

I've seen this question before. I still don't understand what is meant by moral authority. It seems like a silly term to me. Moral Authority? No probably not. When did it ever? If we ever had it. I'm sure it ended when we dropped the bombs on Japan. Or maybe when we tried to wipe out the indigenous people of this country.

"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil but because of those who look on and do nothing."
Albert Einstein
Morality is certainly a term with a lot of gray areas - but some actions and agendas are clearly not in the gray area. Indiscriminately slaughtering thousands of innocent men, women and children to try and further an ideology of fanatical, religious hatred is such an example.
I am proud America and her true allies have finally confronted the Islamic militants who pride themselves on their tactics and blood lust - our objectives in this case are both just and moral.
It is sad to see most of the other civilized countries content to sit on the side lines while more innocent victims fall prey to this so called jihad.

No.
Ignoring the fact that morals are relative, and different cultures consider different actions to be moral -- the sheer hypocrisy of our own actions has destroyed any claim of legitimacy that we once might have held.
