Hello Moon, gee this question almost brings tears to my eyes. Yes, they were all dogs. None were full bred, just the happy friendly mongrel type. We don't have any pets now, because of being on the road a lot. Perhaps when we settle down away from the hustle and bustle of life a dog will be among us.

We had pets galore. We were the crazy pet house of the neighborhood :o). We (mom, sister, me) could not walk or drive by an injured animal without thinking we could rescue it. We wound up having about nine cats and four dogs before my dad put his foot down and told us "no more". Of course we still managed to bring home hurt animals which we'd nurse back to health then try to find homes for. Dad was such a pushover!

Today, we have three dogs, an outside cat (not sure if it's ours or not but we take care of it) and fish.

Not that I want to preach, but I think it is so important that kids grow up with a pet. My son loves animals. I also know people that don't care for them, I think only because they've never had one.

All kinds of pets. Many dogs and cats, some of which gave birth to more dogs and cats. Hamsters, a guinea pig, dozens of fish in 5 aquariums, turtles, newts, parakeets, finches, a dove, a duck, a rabbit, pigeons and whatever wild bird babies we'd find in the yard.

Puppies, Cats, turtles, snakes, Raccoon and a goat. The goat made for VERY gfood target practice. It seems that is ALL goats are good for. They get into everything and do nothing but make messes out of ANYTHING. It wasn't worth it just for the tiny amount of milk. Even if it WAS good milk.

I had a dog when I was a kid. But when my sister was born, they decided my only friend in the world had to go. When I was at school, they put him down. I hated them for years for that.

I was always rescuing things though as I grew up. Birds with broken wings, baby squirrels that fell out of trees and were hurt, orphan kittens and once, a baby raccoon.

I used to have a lot of hamsters, then some bunnies. We only had room for small caged pets, and my parents were allergic to cats, so we stuck with bunnies and hamsters.

When I could care for pets myself, I had many many rats. They make such a great pet for someone who can't have a dog or cat. I miss my rats :(

Yes, I had a huge black mountain dog, when I was a child. Once, when climbing up a wooden enclosure, I fell directly on its belly, from about a height of over four feet. The dog was hurt and my mom was worried that he would bite me, instinctively. But, though in good pain, he cared for me and licked me protectively, as though I were its own biological child!

Yes, I live in the country on a farm. I always had dogs and cats around as well as cows, pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. As an adult I still have dogs around today as pets. My funny buddies! :-) Hi ((Moon))

As a child I had many pets. Numerous dogs and cats. When we lived on a farm, we had piglets and calves and ducklings and chicks that we tried to treat as pets. Did not always work out as they had to be sold or killed as food. You learn a lot about life and death on a farm.
