Everyone always talks about how Bush is a political hot potatoe (more like an armed grenade). Even if you don't believe his prediction was purposeful, will it hurt her? (just curious)>

I think the bigger question is how will Bush's policies hurt America now and in the future. Because no one gives a crap about another politician, but we all care about our country and it's direction. Bush is giving our treasury away to mega-corporations and war profiteers and that is more troubling than what little damage he can do to Hillary if any.
BTW, why would he hurt Hillary, she's given him everything he's wanted for the war while she was in the Senate.

No, I don't think it hurts her. It's weird though that he would do that, Presidents usually stay away from making predictions about their successors. But then Bush makes these sorts of faux pas on a regular basis. Like using a general to defend his war policies in front of Congress.

If anything, he may be trying to rally the Republicans to get their act together by warning them that Hillary is going to be the one to beat. I don't think he has a realistic grip on how he's, as you say, an armed grenade when it comes to political endorsements these days. He seems to really believe he's an asset for the Republicans and so should speak out. Which really is a little scary in my opinion. That a President can be so out of the touch with the people and his party that he can't see the forest for the trees and realize he's the one his own party is trying to ignore so they have a chance at the election at all.

I think Bush hopes Hillary wins. With a Democratic president and Democratic congress it will be like the Carter Administration all over again. The Republicans were in the dumps after the Nixon problems and Carter got elected, which then ushered in 12 years of Republican leadership. There was an eight year break with Clinton and then the Bush administration came back with 8 more years. From Nixon to Bush, there would be 28 years of Republican leadership and 12 years of Democratic leadership. It would be worth the four years to the Republicans if either Oboma or Hillary were in office. It would give the Republicans a chance to change direction and usher in another 8-16 years straight of Republican leadership.

Bush said he would be an ASSET to the Republican Party in 2008. Why are so many of the candidates running from Bush. How are going to glorify Bush and Chaney at the convention?

How on earth would that damage her, if people did research on that C- criminals dream team, all would see, they damaged themself. Besides, since Bush predicted this, should all the Libs not vote for her or what, one way to make him into a liar again.

He wasn't giving his support to her by predicting she would get the nomination. I think he just realizes that a lot of people in this country are brainwashed into believing she has actually accomplished something while being a senator, which she hasn't. If she were not married to Bill Clinton, she never would have been elected to the senate, nor would she be in a position to run for president.

The republicans have wanted to run against Hillary Clinton since the bad old Newt Gingrich days. Hillary will turn out the far right like no other candidate. Bush is just doing his aprt to crown her the winner before a vote is cast. He doesn't like waiting for the voters to do theri part. Just look at the Florida vote and how he was "selected".

No, I think he made the statement to wake the public up to the reality of how truly preposterous her winning would be.

A lot of people desire a lot of things until the reality of such truly hits them.

Putting Hillary in the White House would be akin to allowing a leopard into the ostrich cage at the San Diego zoo.

- Think about it.

Remember Bill Clinton and Bush Sr. are friends, so I doubt very much Bush Jr. wants to hurt Hillary.
