million in 4 months of work, and went 6-6, wow, what a record. That's 3 million dollars per win. I hope the Yankees or some other team don't bring him back next year as a player for rent. 6 wins, that's terrible, do you agree?

The record is not great but you can't deny the influence he had on the team. Yankees have best record in baseball since Clemens joined the team. And isn't that the main goal up until now? Funny how guys like you will always point out what a selfish personal stat seeker Clemens is when he's doing well, but when he sacrifices his stats for the better of the team, he's worthless in your eyes. No matter, another WS to go with the other 26 will send guys like you into your winter hibernation.

As a Red Sox fan.. I have to give him credit for changing the attitude of the Yankees. Withour signing him I don't think they were tough enough to rebound and win the Wild Card or possibly the division (God I hope not!)

Clemens re-energized the fans and the clubhouse like nothing else could've. It was actually well worth it for the Yankees to pay him that much! They will get playoff revenue and a shot at winning the ring! Isn't that what it is all about? What team couldn't/wouldn't find 18mil to get a playoff birth?

Well if things pan out, the Yanks will end with about 95 wins. Having a payroll somewhere around 200 million, that works out in the range of 2.1 million per win as a team. (which is terrible) So, I guess they paid Clemens a bit more for his experience and knowledge.

Terrible? No. Pathetically simplistic, perhaps.

But give Rocket's starts to, oh, Igawa -- and there goes the Yankees playoff hopes. The postseason brings extra money (not that the Yankees are hurting for it).

Cashman had a good idea of what he was getting when he signed Clemens. He signed him anyway.

As much as I hate the Yankee's he gave them a spark believe it or not.

Before he came back they weren't doing sh i t, but since he has they've won a lot of games. I wouldn't necessarily say it was all Roger, but he has that effect on a team.

Well he had a couple of good years later on in his carrer the contract was understandable. Considering the Yankees had NO pitching I thought it was a good risk but it didn't payoff

The Yanks are savin his arm for the playoffs. They got him because he's a big game pitcher, not to give them 10 wins.

Joe Torre says the insight he brings to the club and the young players is "priceless".
