I ask because it seems that only the KKK is associated with "racism" and the black panthers are associated with "civil rights". Why is that? (a few surveys have been conducted)

I am not defending anyone. I think they are both wrong. EQUALLY. I am just pointing out that all of you who say they Black Panthers have never committed a hate crime are sadly mistaken. There is news story after news story about these. AGAIN...i think they are BOTH wrong. Stop calling me a racist when I never said either one was ok!!

Both groups are equally as bad. I see disagreement in violent and illegal acts being commited by either party and anyone can stand by that and pretend to be blind to things that have really happened and continue to happen. The problem is that I think if its a white group then its racist and if its any other group its not.....there are groups for african americans.....mexican americans......latinos.....jews.....italians ect ect the list goes on. The one group that whites have kkk are racist and have either given all pro white groups a bad name or people are just anit white. I strongly believe that people have become anti white and that white people have led themselves to believe that they have to be politically correct so to speak and keep the mouths shut. I'm white and will be considered a racist for writing this but that just goes right with what I am saying. My belief is that there shouldn't be any groups for anyone.......whites blacks mexicans ect ect ect....there is no need nowadays....at one time there was but that is gone. while racism will never be completely gone I think that it would be more so now if there were no groups. If people would stop looking at THEMSELVES as a race then you would thus have blind race. This wouldn't have worked in the past and in relation to the question I believe at one time there was a need for the Black Panthers however now not really. There are so many groups that complain that whites are racist and they continue to roll over for other groups.....mexican groups complain that they dont have the same chance as blacks and whites so all the blacks and whites are racist or vice versa......I mean who really cares....get rid of the groups and there wouldnt be these controversies to get over. We have more problems to worry about. Look at the government who lets millions of illegals into this country....how many are actual terrorist with the likes of bin laden????? We invite people from over seas to live here and shower them with money to start businesses and gain lives ect ect......how bout you do it the way my ansestors did and suffer your way into this country or like the middle class continues to do......blacks mexicans and whites who are americans dont get that kind of help especially if you are middle class who pay for all of it and bust your butt at work to support your family. Basically I don't give a damn what color you are our what special whiny treatment you believe you deserve and yes i have complaints like anyone else but if it were all just equal and you get rid of the PRO groups then things would prolly drift away within the next 10-20 years. I believe in legal immigration and believe in EQUAL opportunity and benefits for all. I guess my thoughts will always just be an impossible dream.

Although I don't agree with the Black Panther's stances on communism and reverse racism, and we probably wouldn't get along personally, the Black Panthers can't hold a handle to what the KKK did. Yes, they are both racist, but where as the Black Panthers might have been uppity, the KKK was a terror force. They raped. They tortured. They killed children. They firebombed A CHURCH. I"m not saying those Black Panthers should get off scot free, but let's keep things in perspective. Quite frankly, even though I"m white and lean conservative, I have a tiny bit more respect for the panthers for how they tend to carry themselves. It's not always right, but it has more common sense than a damn riot. I would choose panthers over rioters and looters any day. Sad thing is, I actually have respect for both the Panthers AND the Klan (*gasp* WHAT?!?) in their original intent. The Klan originally wasn't a racist terror group and the Panthers weren't originally anti capitalist. Also, I can't deny the Panthers their desire for wanting guns. Originally, the Klan wanted to protect Southern heritage. Then, pardon the term, things went south. When the Klan got bad, that's when the original founder, Nathan Bedford Forrest, DENOUNCED it and left, and warned people of it. I wouldn't be surprised if they had both been infiltrated by the Feds, the same way the police have. But yes, conservatives, it's gonna take a damn long time for the Panthers to catch up to the Klan in violence. Maybe not in stupidity, but violence. And yes, liberals, it's going to take the KKK and Westboro Baptist a long time to catch up to ISIS, regardless of what you think.

"Who is worse KKK or Black Panthers? Both commit hate crimes against other races, both are on the?
DHS "terrorist watch list", both conduct illeal activities, and both are racist..."
Ok
"I am not defending anyone. I think they are both wrong. EQUALLY."
So what is the point of the question? The point is the statement you are making that Black panthers are no better than the KKK and most to all already know that.

the man who started the black panther party was thrown in prison for voluntary manslaughter of a uniformed police officer. Im pretty sure that in California the black panther party killed 10 police officers and wounded over fifty. they even showed up into a court of law carrying loaded firearms with intent to use them when they were gunna outlaw charring weapons down the street. just in 2 years in CA.. and didn't the new black panther party try to rally 10,000 members to kill Zimmerman? all the deaths of innocent people back in the day were just committed by pissed off rednecks. none were members or acting under the influence of the kkk. they were both dangerous organizations that killed innocent people.

I don't really know much about either one. But I've never heard a story in the news about the Black Panthers killing someone... (Although I don't watch hourly updates on CNN). Both are obviously wrong, but from knowing what the KKK has done before, I'm going to have to go with them being worse. Seems like black people fight to get justice and their freedom, while on the other hand, it seems like white people are doing it more out of hatred and to kill "just because they don't like another race".

The KKK of course. The Black Panthers are about uplifting blacks and they didn't hold public lynchings like the KKK. Less violent, but they still get compared to them. Why? I still have no idea.

Klan (KKK) is the name of several past and present organizations in the United States that have advocated white supremacy, anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, racism, homophobia, anti-Communism and nativism. These organizations have often used terrorism, violence, and acts of intimidation, such as cross burning and lynching, to oppress African Americans and other social or ethnic groups. The name "Ku Klux Klan" has since been used by many different unrelated groups, including many who opposed the Civil Rights Act and desegregation in the 1950s and 1960s, with members of these groups eventually being convicted of murder and manslaughter in the deaths of civil rights workers and children (such as in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Alabama, the assassination of NAACP organizer Medgar Evers, and the murders of three civil rights workers in Mississippi). Today, it is estimated that there are as many as 150 Klan chapters with up to 8,000 members nationwide.[2] These groups, with operations in separated small local units, are considered extreme hate groups
The Black Panther Party (originally called the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense) was an African American organization founded to promote civil rights and self-defense. It was active within the United States in the late 1960s into the 1970s.
The group was founded on the principles of its Ten-Point Program, a document that called for "Land, Bread, Housing, Education, Clothing, Justice And Peace," as well as exemption from military service that would utilize African Americans to "fight and kill other people of color in the world who, like Black people, are being victimized by the White racist government of America."
one was based on racism and terriosm while the other was to to promote civil rights.

Both started out with the intent provide social justice. The KKK started out as a paternal organization for wound confederate soldiers. The Panthers provided free meals to poor children.
However both began to cater to the extremes of both movement to bolster membership. The KKK bombed, raped, and killed people for sheer pleasure of the kill. The Panthers robbed banks.
KKK wins.

The original Black Panther Party included whites in their activities. Groups like the Weathermen were down with them. Their motto was "Power to the People" and they established the Meals on Wheels program in over two dozen cities. They did not go around in sheets burning people's houses down and killing whites for the sport. The comparison to the KKK is ridiculous and shows a general ignorance toward American history.
