when you have a piece of flat metal (really thin), and you draw on it with something pointy, and it turns out really pretty on both sides?

The metal is copper, brass, or aluminum. The process is called foil embossing and the thin metal can be bought at many hardware and hobby stores where it is sold in 4x10" and 6x12" sheet under the logo of K&S http://www.ksmetals.com/Craft/default.asp?Title=Craft_Products

Aluminium like that comes in sheets of various thicknesses...most decent art shops sell it....or you can cut up soda cans and get small bits to use....only on one side though and its REALLY sharp so be careful if you do it.
