Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are most climactically like England, as they are coastal. They also have their roots in old Colonialism and some current laws stem back to pre-revolutionary times. In addition, there are many British musters that occur around the states. There are also British only burial grounds in each of the states that date back to the 1600's.

Which part of England???Goodness, England, and most countries have groups of populations dominated by a religion, a color, a political ruler, or money. So, take a look at West Virginia. I think they have a population, (with the exception of the religion), quite like the general milieu of England.

I think Massachusetts. It's got coast, hills, lakes, cities, and about the same mix of ethnic diversity as UK. It has lots of trains, some old architecture, and is generally cold in climate. Good education, not as 3rd world and wild as new york city, and surrounding New England is similar to Scotland and Wales, Ireland etc.
