he is right but there are guards it is not just open land. (well it is but not unguarded) see like said above there still would not be enough to stop poaching, but yes I see your point.

what about the other endangered animals. there are many in africa that are more endangered than chimps. And it's easy enough to cut fencing and get in. Poachers are very good at getting in and out of places fast and taking what they want. There simply isn't enough money to do this. In some places it's frankly dangerous for patrols to go out because the rebels and poachers sometimes have better fire power than the park guards.

Because it would be like fencing in an entire county. Who's going to pay for that? Who's going to pay for guards to patrol that often enough to keep the poachers out, and the monkeys in?

Imagine your grade school playground. Imagine all of those kids running out away from the school if they wanted to. It would look like that when the monkeys escape. They won't respect a fence - they'll go right over it.
