...it has has an annoying safety feature that causes the mower to shut down when you get off. It tells you to warm up the mower for 5 minutes before use, but you have to be on it the whole time, also anoying when you want to quickly jump off to pick up a stick. Anyone know how to disable?

If we lock our brake on, we can get off and it will still be running.
the mower deck can't be running when you get off ... You could cut off your foot and they would have a lawsuit on their hands .. it WILL shut down if the blades are moving.

Look for a metal "switch" that makes contact when you are on the seat. Lift the seat up and you will probably see it. I had to "jumper" the switch on my Lowes mower to be able to get off it.

Check to see if you put it in neutral and lock the brake that you can get off, without the blade running that is, it should keep the motor running that way.
