This is a college movie set in the 30's, 40's or 50's. All I can remember about the movie is a football game and I think one of the main characters was either Charles Laughton or Edgar Buchanan. I remember them walking on the sidelines wearing a long brown fur coat. I remember seeing this movie on TV in the 70's. I have looked up both those actors name and I don't see a football type movie that they have done. Can anyone figure the name of this from what I have described? Thanks

Could it be, "Knute Rockne All American" (1940)?
It starred Pat O'Brien as Knute Rockne. Also had Ronald Reagan as George 'The Gipper' Gipp.
True story.
