How did you find out you were pregnant?

Who was the first person who knew it?

I just knew. I was at work with a TERRIBILE headache. This wasn't uncommon b/c I always have headaches. But one of my co-workers laughed it off and said are you sure you're not pregnant. I said nooo I don't think so. Then I missed my period and I knew I was. Then I took a HPT and was 4 weeks along. I ended up miscarrying at 9 weeks tho :( HEARTBREAKING!

It was the week of my sister's wedding and every day I had a sudden feeling of being "starving" I would eat, then be fine. This went on for a couple days...then at her wedding, I actually had to leave the ceremony because I thought I was going to be sick. The rest of the day everyone kept saying 'that's how I felt when I was pregnant' but I didn't really have any other symptoms so I thought it was just my blood sugar or something. The next day I went to the doc and he asked me "have you been tired" no. "are you really nauseas" no. and asked me a few other questions, all to which I answered "no"...then he said "well those are all symptoms of pregnancy and you are pregnant." My mom was with me and we were both shocked. I just kept laughing because I knew I had to call my husband and tell him!
About a week after that, the extreme nausea set in and is just barely starting to go away - at week 24.

With my son I found out on my break from work. I used to work at a vet hospital and we had a two hour lunch so on my lunch break I went and bought a pregnancy test because I had that feeling that I might be. I went home and took it there and two minutes later it came back positive. I was so scared and worried (I was only 20) so I called my best friend and told her and we went to the mall and talked about it. I took the rest of the day off of work but didn't say why. For my daughter my husband was with me. I had that feeling again so we bought a pregnancy test and it confirmed what we had been thinking I was pregnant again. I am glad that he was with me the second time cause with the first pregnancy he was on base cause he was in the military.

I was having pain in my stomach and went to the doctor for that, not expecting to be told I'm pregnant. I had just took a home test the week before and it was negative (and yes, I was trying to conceive). Well, it turned out I was in fact, pregnant (3 weeks along), but the pain was from having a urinary tract infection. Everything turned out fine (thank God).

Besides my doctor and his nurse and me, the next person that knew was my husband when I got home. Then we both called up our parents at the same time (on different phones).

Seems my sister knew before I did. All she had to do was take one look at me. I hadn't taken a pg test yet and in a couple of weeks I confirmed it.

After I took the test though, we didn't tell anybody right away until after my dr's apt. Only because we had lost our first and we had already told the world. So we just wanted to make sure everything was ok. And thankfully everything is STILL ok, 20 weeks!!

With the first, I took a HPT at 5 weeks and it was positive. With my second, I was 16 1/2 weeks before I found out. I was under a great deal of stress and contributed my "symptoms" on stress, but when I started feeling kicks - i knew exactly what it was.

Home pregnancy test both times and both times I told my husband first. We decided not to tell anyone for 12 weeks with our first and at 8 weeks I secretly told my sister. Then the second time we decided to tell everyone at around 8 weeks but I told my sister the same day I took the test - I actually told her I was taking the test on my way to buy it so I guess in a way I told her first. lol Oh, and my sister did the same to her husband. For her first, she was sooo nervous that she told me right away and I had to keep it a secret for 8 weeks!!
My best friend had all the symptoms and insisted she wasn't pregnant and I made her buy a test. She was (unplanned) and I had to keep THAT one a secret but not for as long!

I found out 3 days ago...
I figured that my period was late because of my new work out and diet. My hubby and I were trying but I wasn't going to get my hopes up again. So my mind wasn't thinking pregnant. 3 mornings ago, a friend came over to see my husband and I was getting out of bed and I got really nauseous. The boys exchanged glances and my husband was teasing me all day saying I was pregnant. That got me thinking.... My cat, whom has always laid on my stomach and chest. He'll even wake me up at night to lay on me. Well I noticed that he stopped doing that and just lays beside me or on my chest, not my stomach. I also recalled that he lets my husbad pet him, which is unusual. So later that day I took a test and it was positive!! We then went to the dr to confirm it.

When I took the test my husband was at a friends house, so they knew right away, since he left so quickly and then said we went to the dr. This was the same friend that saw me almost get sick. He knew what was going on.

I texted two of my best friends and told them when I got the dr. results. The next night I went and told my parents face to face. We called my brother and his fiance. And then we call my husband's parents and bothers.

I am only 5 weeks. I have an appt at 8 weeks. I plan on telling my boss then.

But I think my cat knew before all of us. :)

I've never been preggers (unfortunately), but my friend found out in a funny way. She went out for drinks with coworkers one day after work. They went to some Mexican restaurant. She took one sip of her margarita and had to run outside and vomit in the bushes! She said she had never vomited like that before. A woman was walking in from the parking lot and stopped to see if she was ok. The woman told her she was pregnant (because this woman had done a very similar thing when she got pregnant)! LOL!

I told her, that's what she got for trying to drink alcohol while pregnant. :)
