A toxic relationship with your ex!! Just a few signs and symtoms
A toxic relationship with your ex!! Just a few signs and symtoms
They interfere with new relationships.
They will use your children against you
They will blame you for their unhappiness
They will try to plant seeds of doubt
They will use you as an excuse for their own bad behavior
They will use the court system to stay engaged
Just remember the children!! They are the ones that suffer when ex’s can’t get along. Remember the love that you both share for your child and put your difference aside long enough to make sure the children are happy. You know they do pick up on things like that. Remember they also learn from example. Do you want your children to act like you are acting? When you share custody of the kids, this means you share, the kids, and their life, who, what, how, everything in their life. It does not matter what you grown ups are doing in your life; don’t let that become part of the kids life! These are young kids they follow and mimic things the grown ups do and their friends. Try to work things out on a grown up level. Your kids are very important to both of you, so try to protect them from the negative things going on with the adults. You and your ex spouse do the best you can and try to arrange things to where it is just the two of you making the choices for the kids. Then talk it over with your current spouse and work from there. No, things are never perfect, you all are going to have to be flexible and work on this for the kids. There are many things you can try to improve things with your ex and your current spouse, you all need to work on getting along. The comment you made in your question about your bossy narcissistic ex, how would you feel if this was change around on you? Just because one does it does not make it right for the rest of you to do it. The old saying an eye for a eye everyone ends up blind. Someone has to be able to think things out and work towards a much better way of open communications. There are many ways to deal with these common problems with divorced couples.
I have put some links in for you to just click on it will take you to the site and you can read and search for the ones that fit your own needs for you and your kids.
Best of luck to you:)

I take it you are saying you and your ex share custody of the children.
First thing you could do is stop letting the ex control your emotions... don't worry about what they think or what they are doing, because they are now your EX.
Second thing, you don't have to have a conversation with them, simply exchange the kids and go about your business.
Time heals all wounds. Hopefully someday it wont be so difficult for you.

I wanted what was best for my my children, I was always civil no matter what. We attended family functions and holidays together with our children, the joy on my childrens faces, not to be put in the middle was enough for me to know I did the right thing. I made the best of a bad situation, & do not regret it.
Don't get me wrong, we are not best friends, but we communicate for our children & grandchildren.

There is little you can do except hold your breath till the kids outgrow visitation. Obey all rules, don't bend, don't give, and communicate only when it has to do with the kids and nothing more. Do your best to provide a happy, safe home for the kids when you have them. That is all you can control.

I depends on your situation, on how to deal with them. I got tired of the lies and him fighting with his girlfriend around our child, tired of the non maintenance support(the list goes on). She stopped asking about him and i dont mention him. She dosnt need that in her life, and he obviously dosnt care enough about her to smarten up. If you have shared custody, and want it changed then id start doing up the court papers.
