I have devised a wonderful smell for my house. In a pot, place.. 1 thinly slice one lemon and 1 thinly sliced orange, 1/2 cup whole cloves and three cinnamon sticks. Pour 2 quarts water over and set to simmer for about two hours or more. Turn it off once you have reached your desired level of smell. Allow to cool, then refrigerate in fridge until you need it the next time. You can add up to 2 more quarts of water before you have to throw it out. I leave this on at my house and have to replenish every ten days or so. Smells just like christmas. The smell lingers for a long time if the house is closed up.

There are a few things you can do to help keep your house smelling fresh, but remember that the nose will become accustomed to any smell after awhile.
1.) Carpet Deodorizers: This is an easy and quick way to freshen up the house. Pick up a powdered deodorizer (of your preference) from the grocery store and sprinkle on the carpet. Let it sit while you clean the rest of the house and vacuum. Though the scent may not last for more than a day, but the deodorizing effects of the powder should last a week or so. If you don't want to use the store powders, get some baking soda and at the craft store you can find some oil scents for candles. Throw a few drops, let sit 24 hours and then use like a store bought one. You can also use essential oils from the health food store.
2.) A/C Filter Scent: At Home Depot or Lowe's they sell deodorizers of different scents that fit into the a/c filter. This will push the scent throughout your house, and should last much longer than the carpet deodorizers.
3.) Apple Pie: The best sure-fire way to make your house smell amazing is to bake an apple pie! No joke, the smell will completely permeate your house. If you don't know how to bake... cut up some apples & pour cinnamon on to them. Stick it in the oven on low, and you'll get the same effect! Of course, this should only be done while you are at home.
Happy Cleaning!

I learned this little trick from my sister. I found some nice smelling all purpose cleanser (Fabuloso). My sister uses a mixture of pinesol, cholorx, and water. But whatever suits your nose. I will spray and wipe down my front and back door (inside) and other little things. Since Fabuloso is an all purpose cleanser, you can use it in the kitchen and everywhere aound the house. I will wipe down the kitchen countertops, and the house is filled all day with that nice fragrance. I will also open the windows when there is a nice breeze outside. When it is rainy or muggy outside, I keep the a/c at a low setting. That will keep down any food and kids odors. I have a husband and four children (small), but you won't know it by walking into my home.

I know your place is clean but I would still take a look at the A/C ducts and wipe them and vacuum them. I would also clean areas where garbage bins sit or laundry is at (wet spots) every day.
Do you have an attic? Do you live in an area with a great number of tree leaves on the ground; and do you have a crawling space underneath the house where they can get in and rot? I would check if any mold is present and give it a good clean, either by a company or by the help of friends.
If you like apple and cinnamon, I would place some real cinnamon sticks in a pretty container and place it in the entrance of the house. It is also such a fall decoration! In Michaels they also sell apple and cinnamon scented pretty candles in huge jars.

Open up all of the windows and air it out from time to time. Bake a fresh pie or cookies occasionally. Give it a few months and it will aquire the right home smell.

I actually prefer using a body spritz of some kind, and just spritz it on the little throw rugs or even your shower curtain or throw pillows! It's much less subtle than candles or air fresheners and smells great because you have a HUGE variety to choose from. Try bath and body works :)

Yes, I use those Mela-soft sheets that you'd throw in the dryer.
Just put them in various hidden area's of the house & this should help.
Ya might have to replace them every so often as the smell of them fade.
The stuff that softens UR clothes that you'd throw in the dryer.
That should do the trick. & you can use some spray on them to freshen them up so often. Or replace it with a new one.
I also throw it in where I keep my plastic bags, so that when I line the garbage cans with these plastic bags that they have that sent with them.
I hope this helps.

Oust is the best fragrant deodorizers I have found, they come with the liquid and they cut off after about 10 minutes so the battery doesn't run down. They have them in some very good fragrances too.
