Marriage is not an invention, it is a bonding ceremony that dates right back 2 the Egyptians, they found early painting on the wall`s surrounding tomes of male and females being showered with petals holding hand`s and it`s just progress since then, I hope I have been of some help to you

No one "invented" the societal arrangement called "marriage". Even the earlist human civilizations--I mean city-states like Catal Huyuk, which predate even Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia--had marriages, especially among the wealthy and/or the nobility for properly tracking legitimate heirs.
