I'm not sure that a smart person would immediately cut five programs until they were more familiar with what is really going on in the system. I think it would be easy to eliminate the IRS and go with a flat tax. I also think we can eliminate the immigration department because they obviously arent wanted and cant do their job anyway. After that I think it would just be easier to cut the waste and programs that are designed to do favors for campaign contributors than eliminae whole departments.

1. Welfare. It's job time for those able to work.
2. Health care welfare, including the S-chip. Again, job time. The only health care program I'd leave intact is Medicare, only for those 65 or older and those with severe physical disabilities that limit their ability to work.
3. I'd take away the ability for Congress to vote themselves pay raises. In fact, they would be taking a pay cut. It's time to get people in who really want to do the job, not for the money.
4. IRS. Say it with me, flat tax.
5. Any other program that gives hand-outs to other countries when we have enough of our own leeches here.

Departments of: Homeland Security, Energy, Labor, Education, and Commerce. They are socialist--bordering on National Socialism--which is the antithesis of what this nation stands for at least in the ideal.

I am fairly sure the commerce would still flow without a layer of governmental interference. We could be safe without another layer of incompetents 'protecting' us--as opposed to protecting their place at the public trough. We would still have energy to use and would not be in a giant 3 mile island scenario without the geniuses of the Energy department.
People would still have jobs without the Government enforcing rights violations on employers. And last but not least: Could education get any worse?

I would cut the NEA...
Followed by the many subsidies that are inappropriately lavished on certain big business interests...
I would abolish the IRS and slap everyone with a flat tax of 15%....
I would dissolve social security completely, with some refunds for private accounts and some phase-outs for current elderly.....
I would enact a moron tax and apply it to the entertainment industry
