I'm 17 and at college studying to be a personal trainer, and as part of the course we spend afternoons in a gym to work out. There's this guy (25 years old) who's a local there, who i'm guessing fancies me, but he's so rude and disrespectfull towards me about it. When ever I walk past him, he'll say loadly to me, something like "Yes, nice ****!" or "Nice t*ts!". He always stares at me when I work out too and makes seductive looks at me, and it's makes me uncomfortable and not want to work out. I've always pretended he was invisable to me and not given him the satisfation of a responce, but it's really annoying me. Is this 'acceptable' or am I over reacting?

It certainly isn't acceptable. Report the **** and get his silly backside out of the gym. People like that need to be shot. He is intimidating you - what a prince.

I think he is being completely out of order with such behaviour. I suggest you tell someone at the gym as they are aware that this kind of thing happens and know that it can be annoying. They also know that if you decide to stop coming to the gym, they won't get as much money, so they're likely to do something about it. Either kick him out or give him a warning.

I don't think you're overreacting, I think he's just being a sleazbag.

Actually you're UNDERreacting... Why would you allow someone to degrade you like that. I say the next time he acts like that towards you, put his punk a%^ in check! And if it gets physical, go for the crotch. But I tell my daughter the same thing, never let a man or anyone for that matter disrespect you. Until you put a stop to it, it will not stop. Too many women these days think its acceptable to be the victim. Hell for all you know this guy could be a rapist, and he's just doing this to pump himself up to something bigger. You need to put a stop to this ASAP.

this is totally unacceptable and if its making you feel like you dont want to work out then its not good, you have two options you can either confront him face on or make a complaint to the manager of the gym - sometimes this might be better going face to face with this guy and knock him down a peg or two and then he can feel ashamed - plus to make it better do it when other people are around and the shame will burn deep inside him. x

Next time stop and say. "I don't know if you've ever heard of home training but you don't appear to have any and I consider your comments very rude and disrespectful. If you don't stop the harassment or I'm going to report you to the management."

It's called teaching other people how to treat you and you may as well start young.

Definitely not acceptable! Say something to the manager. They've kicked men out of my gym for being disrespectful.

What a ****! Get him evicted from the gym, you can't speak to people like that in this day and age! Or next time he is in the gym and it's packed... ask him what did the dr prescribe for his little premature problem.. in a really loud voice!

No this is most certainly not acceptable - it's sexual harassment. Report him immediately. You have the right to be there without feeling uncomfortable. He sounds like a pervert. Report him.

No, it's NOT acceptable and you should call him out on it. Let him know you appreciate that he finds you attractive, but his outbursts are rude and out of place and you are there to work (or workout) and would appreciate it if he'd keep his lewd remarks to himself.

Talk to gym management about it...that kind of behavior could run off female clients.

no. i dont think this is acceptable. you should be able to go to the gym without someone saying something like that to you. if it makes you uncomfertable, i would try not to wear something tight, so nothing is like, sticking out. or, if you could, you could go at different times then his. If this doesnt work for you, you could try to exercise without even going to the gym. Hope this helps :]
