back belts are not reccomended by OSHA as most people do not wear them correctly, actually giving one to employee can actually raise your risk of non compliance

If lifting is part of your job even partially, the employer should issue or have handy back belts from the day you are employed. Back Belts after the damage is done do nothing.

No, in fact the use of "back belts" have declined based on the fact that studies have shown they do more harm than good.
