There are several ways. One is a sticker that changes color when it gets wet. Another is obvious water damage when they take the phone apart.

yea they will, because there is a white sticker in the back and it will turn RED, because it is a chemical litmus paper that reacts to water when in contact.. that is the first thing a company looks at when diagnosing what is wrong with the phone

Usually when you take the battery out there is this little circle sticker and usually its white and the color changes when it has water damage.

when they open it up, it's wet... seriously, the water inside just don't evaporate unless u open it up.. but if u open it up, the warranty gets voided... so cellfone companies know. ;)
