I have a sony vaio VGN-FS395VP from 2005 and it seems to be locked or something. When i press the on button, it turns on, you can hear it work, but the screen stays black and there is no sound, which is an indication that it is not the screen that is dead, but something else... I would say it is somehow locked. CAN YOU TELL ME HOW DO I UNLOCK IT, OR IF IT IS IN SOME OTHER WAY BROKEN, WHAT DO I DO... THANX

Hi. Boot into 'Safe mode' by tapping the F8 key during boot. If you STILL get a blank screen then a repair trip may be in order.

locked?, never heard of that before....I only usually get that if my BIOS was shot, or the processor is dead, or even the board, but like, if there is A WAY to "lock" a laptop, thats beyond me >.>
