They have a test strip that can confirm if you are losing amniotic fluid (your water broke) Its just a strip that changes colour. Go see your doc asap. We went through that with our 1st born at 31 weeks, if it's indeed happened, it's a 1 way street now, goto a hospital with a neonatal unit for delivery asap, ours was born 1850 grams, and turned out fine, dont worry, you're further ahead so you should do fine, good luck and congrats!

Every person is differant, but unfortuantely being 3 cm dialated and 80% efaced and even losing your mucus plug doesn't mean that labor will come soon. You could still carry to 40 weeks.
I was 4 centimeteres dialated and 100% efaced also with no mucus plug for the last month with my first two kids. I carried to full term with them. Losing the mucus plug is not a concern for doctors...that is how our bodies are designed to work, but if your water was to break that would become a concern for the doctors! When that breaks that is when they want the baby born within 12-24 hours due to the cause that infection can set in.
I am sorry if this is discouraging! Your body is just prepping for the time that is coming soon, just not the next few days.
Good luck and congratulations

I lost my mucus plug at 34 weeks, and was about 2 cm dialated but did not deliver for another 4 weeks.

not necessarily, you can lose parts or all of your mucus plug several weeks before you begin labor. You are still not quite full term yet either and though your baby would surely be quite healthy theres no real need to rush things. At 35 weeks, the babys lungs are still developing so give it time. No need to rush

Get ready because that baby is on its way! Yes, typically losing the plug means the baby will be born anytime now.

you should be, or could be, time the contractions, I think you should be having them, even if they are very faint. It won't hurt for you to get to the hospital and get checked out, if it's warranted, they will admit you and hook you up to the fetal monitor; if not, they will send you home, but me thinks you'd better go cause it's time to have a baby!
Good luck & congratulations!!!!!!

Yes, in your case it does. You are far too early to be in labor. Why dont they have you on bedrest?
You cannot have a healthy full term baby yet, and you need to get to the ER and have them stop your labor.
