whats with peoples obsession with tori hunter, im not going to deny that he is a good player but ive seen a bunch of forums and people talking about how he is the best centerfielder in the game, i still have my money on ichiro, a future hall of famer, as the best cf in baseball, but he doesnt get much respect from fans it seems

There are many great outfielders in MLB and Ichiro and Hunter are two of the best. I can understand the enthusiasm Tori Hunter fans have because he is having a great year, but I would have to agree with you and put Ichiro at the top of the list.

the "obsession" may be that it is more achievable to get Tori Hunter as a player for their particular team as Ichiro signed a new contract and will stay in Seattle while Tori Hunter would be a less expensive option and is still a very capable centerfielder in even the toughest centerfields. As in any contract, one would hope the risks are less than the rewards.

I agree with Tori Hunter being a really good CF but he's not the only good CF in the game theres still Ichiro,Grady Sizemore,Curtis Granderson,Aron Rowand and B.J. Upton all very good outfielders defensively and offensively. so you can't say he's the best outfielder.

Well, this is Ichiro's first year in centre.
Also, Ichiro is playing in his 7th ML season, a bit early to talk about him as a future HOFer
Hunter's defense is equal if not greater in CF, his power #'s are much larger, but his average and SBs are down.

I'm a yankee fan but i feel Ichiro is a better complete player than Hunter. I do agree that Hunter is a littler overrated. I feel he tries to make the highlight reel over over again rather than play as smooth as possible.

Ichiro is widely recognized as the best center fielder. I don't think many people believe Hunter is better.
