in a botanical sense, they are called spines and they are modified leaves. dissecting the anatomy of the cactus shows that the spines grow from a pad which would be the anatomical equivalent to the petiole.
also,
needles, which are also modified leaves grow on conifers.
thorns grow on many plants and grow from the stem. these are modified branches.

Shut up i get acne sometimes. And it isnt nose because all noses are NOT pointy. Believe it or not, they all have rounded edges. So its not NOSE, its acne. Unless you missed it when u were picking it, then it's a booger There you go.
