my friend found a brand new razr sitting on a bench in a park, and he took it. there are no contacts and there are six voicemails on it, however the phone is disconnected and there is no way of hearing the voicemails.

my phone was stolen last spring and im aware that u can report a phone as stolen which could get somebody in trouble, however i doubt that they would report it as stolen when it was just left on the bench like that.

im just wondering if im at risk with the law if i use the phone and will the phone company let me use it?

I would not keep it. just hand it in. who knows that it could have slipped out thier pocket and when they noticed it they cancled it. You know what i is like to lose a phone. so i would hand it in to the police and how knows if no one clames it you may get it anyway.

I have been missing my phone for about 2 1/2 weeks now and it really sucks! I would try to find the owner I mean, isn't it a moral issue if you keep something that doesnt belong to you? Especially if they have a contract left. It will cost them at least $200 to either replace the phone or cancel the contract. You would be a mean person if you let that happen. At least put an ad in the lost and found and if noone calls then at least you tried.

BTW my phone is not a razor so you didnt find mine.

return it ot the local police. you cannot activate this phone. when it was lost they put the electric serial number on a reverse list only the owner can activate it.

sell it on eBay and then use the money and buy a new phone.
