Check with your Senior Citizens groups. They should be able to find someone in their group.

You should visit all the local fabric and craft stores in your area, along with the seamstress and alterations providers and let them know what you need.

Also, put an ad in the local newspaper stating that you need an internship or apprentice. If you are willing to volunteer as you learn, be sure to include that.
