A Contractor's license. Ladders step & extension. Ladder jacks and a plank. Peak hooks. Drop cloths. Pant mixer (For your drill motor). Scrapers. Differant size brushes. I also own a paint sprayer and masking equip. Coveralls. Masks. Aspirator. From there you will find out stuff that makes it easier for you.

Knowledge and experience: then you have to know how to give an estimate, you can't go in and give a estimate so high no one calls you, on the other hand, you can't give an estimate so low, you lose money. You have to have experience.

You have to know what your doing. The paint your using, your going to have to answer a lot of questions.

I would suggest you go to work for a painting contractor for a couple of years first, learn the business and the trade, then if you still like the work, go for it.
It cost money to get into this line of work. Your going to have to buy a good sprayer unit, it's going to run you around four, five thousand dollars. Ladders, other equipment, a truck. It's best to get some experience first.

Besides the fact that you need a License,bond,truck, ladders, brushes, and paint, you need to know how to bid.How much paint is needed. You need to hire on to a painting crew. or join the local painters union. Learn the job from the ground up.

find a paint store and get a line of credit and then you need rollers and paint brushes and a few different size ladders. good luck
