I can't believe all the uproar over one ad in one newspaper by MoveOn. The Senate actually wasted their session time passing a condemnation of it. It's an ad. It doesn't really impact the weflare of this country or it's citizens in any way.

Meanwhile, Gas is $3 a gallon; The American dollar no has so little value it's equal to Canada's currency for the first time in 30 years; We're still losing over 50 troops a month in Iraq and now disease is becoming an issue among the populace there; The housing credit crunch continues; The gulf coast remains fractured; Etc; Etc; Etc.

Am I the only one who feels like we've completely taken our eyes off the ball here-?!?

Let's see...the MoveOn ad...the Terry Schiavo case...gay marriage...Dubai ports...flag burning...there's no end to the number of divisive issues that really don't affect our lives that take up the time of our elected representatives. They are so busy trying to divide us politically, that they rarely do their jobs. Can we get a budget passed?

Yes, and the worst part is that what Moveon said was true. The general was playing politics, fudging the statistics, and not telling the truth. The funny part is that Rush Limbaugh was the person that started calling him General Betray Us. The Neo-cons should turn on the person that coined the phrase.

Evil must be confronted and opposed whenever it appears. If one fails to do so you become part of the evil. That full page ad was a reprehensible attack on an honorable man who has spent his life doing dangerous work in service to America. Contrary to your claims, the American government is capable of addressing more than one thing at a time.

If the issues you state are important one must wonder why such organizations spend their money attacking the character of one of America's warriors instead of working on those other issues you have listed. It seems to me that $69,000 could have been put to much better use.

That is true. What happened with free speech? MoveOn has the right to question and criticize what they believe incorrect, even if it is not. The General Petreau has lied about the situation in Iraq He, Bush and Cheney are the only ones saying things are ok in Iraq.

Anything to sidetrack the people from the real issues.

It was OK for the GOP to run the destructive negative ads against Kerry though, even though he was a veteran too, & some of the so called "swift boaters" later claimed their names were used to spread the lies without their permission.

That's kinda like you posting your complaint about the response to a political ad when there are important issues to be discussed.
And the hypocrisy continues...........

Yes. The ad was notorious for it's bad taste. It should be criticized by everyone as an example of free speech going too far. The comments were treasonous, and you think that's all right.

It bothers me that so many actual Americans hate their own country and hate their military even worse.

And yes, it bothers me that a Foreigner named George Soros ir RUNNING THE TRAITOROUS DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

So the concern is justified.
