Cap.Nemo was a true explorer of the deepness of all the 7 seas. On the other hand, Phineas (not Phileas) Fogg was a voyager and a true gentleman!

Both had ulterior motives and goals, neither worried about exploring. Phineas Fogg did explore in a sense but it was just what got in his way as he went round the world.
BTW, I believe Wiki screwed up again, if that's where some got their answers spelling. A better choice may have been Amazon.

Neither were really explorers but I think Fogg was the better character.

It's only too obvious. Phileas, because his discoveries were for honor and the rest of the world. Nemo kept his discoveries to himself and was vengeful towards mankind.
