Has anyone found the best website for legal counsel specializing in California?

California lawyers have websites containing only general information and that information is not intended to be taken as legal advice by any particular person in a specific situation.

In order to receive competent legal advice, you must contact the lawyer and establish a proper lawyer/client relationship where you will tell the lawyer all of the specifics of your case, the lawyer will ask questions to be sure there are no unclear areas, and you will be advised accordingly. Of course, you will be asked to pay for this advice.

The best lawyer for the job is not always the one with the flashiest website. Some of the best lawyers don't even have a website. To find a good lawyer, contact your local bar association referral service and then ask the lawyer for references and examples of success in cases like yours.

Generally -- websites are not allowed to offer legal advice -- doing so is considered the unauthorized practice of law.

The two best sites for legal information are nolo.com and findlaw.com -- but they cannot tell you what you should do -- they can only provide general information that allows you to make your own choices.

I am also a California licensed attorney -- so, for the occasional simple question, feel free to contact me offline -- no promises, but I can usually help with simple issues.
