Honestly, I would say get all three systems. If u love all types of games on any console, get all three. That way, u won't be bored too often.
I'm getting all three myself. I already have a PS3 and a 360 Elite on lay-away. Just gotta work on getting the Wii.

It really depends on if you like online play. I think the XBOX 360 and microsoft have the online gaming at a stranglehold right now. I love playing Fight Night and Madden online against real people. Playstaion 3 and Sony are still in developmental stages for online competition. Both systems have the muscles but if you want real live competition, the XBOX 360 wins by a landslide.

get a Dreamcast....
no seriously, you can't go wrong with either one; but right now it looks like the PS3's main prospects are a ways off, so if you want instant gratification pick up a 360.
I own a Wii and PS3 myself, and I plan on getting the 360 as soon as the ones with the smaller chipset come out.

The ps3 is good but not worth the price, xbox 360 is just as good with a more reasonable price tag
