Dark adaptation refers to how the eye adjusts to light. I don't think it has any other particular meaning in the law. My guess would be that it could come up when questioning an eye witnesses credibility.

Raichasays is correct -- I've never seen that as a legal term, and it's not in any of the legal dictionaries I checked.

So, it's general physiological meaning -- dealing with vision adaptation to low-light conditions -- would apply.
