Look I know that he is allowed to play exhibition games under the current rules, I am just questioning the wisdom of it.

If you actually pay attention to any hockey news, you'll know that Simon is supposed to be suspended for REGULAR season games. Little legal loophole for you, last night was a PRE-SEASON game.

The NHL Players association would contest any suspension which included non-paying games (players aren't paid for training-camp)

Its allowed in exhibition in order to allow players to get into game shape. What you really should be asking is how that Simon/Holweg incident resulted in the longest suspension ever!

it was a preseason game, simon was busy he still has 5 regular games to go before he can play
